Our Memories: Baylor Collins

Baylor Collins, Staff Writer

In AP US History, we mostly read from the textbook. Yet, one day, we were tasked with forming small groups and simulating the governmental diplomacy between fictional nations based off the major powers of World War 1. We wrote speeches adressing the incidents handed down to the class, formed alliances, sent envoys to the other tables; it was a previously-unseen energetic chaos. I tried to keep the Penland nationalist movement under control within my cabinent but everyone started taunting the other tables pretty quickly. Incidentaly, we all declared war just as our real-life counterpart countries had done. I wish we did that for every unit.
