This past Friday night, the varsity football team paid tribute to those who have served in honor of the upcoming Veterans Day. As the team ran out from the weight room like they always do, the seniors ran with pride as they carried large American flags onto the field. They then proceeded to step forward in a line, still holding the flags, and stand in silence as the entire stadium listened to “Proud to be an American” by Lee Greenwood followed by the National Anthem.

Senior, Marco Ramirez, shared his feelings about that moment saying, “The atmosphere was amazing and I just felt so proud and privileged to be part of the moment.”

Friday was quite an emotional night and that’s not just because of the tribute that was paid to veterans but because it was the final game in the C-House for the seniors on the team. The past few weeks of region play have been rough, but the energy going into this game was strong. Although there were still doubts about pulling off a win against Lambert, the varsity football players were able to accomplish their goal, winning 29-22.
