Homecoming: What to Expect

Emma Harding, Editor

It’s official. Homecoming week has kicked off and is in full gear. All throughout this week, you, a FCHS student, will be showcasing your school spirit. Whether through dressing up each day this week or attending the Varsity Football HOCO game against West Forsyth Friday night, there are chances to show your support. It’s important to participate in each theme this week not only for the fun of it but to unite the Forsyth Central student body as one.

The themes for this week are listed as followed:

Monday – Hawaiian Day

Tuesday – Jersey Day

Wednesday – Pajama Day

Thursday – Superhero Day

Friday – Pink Out (Breast Cancer Awareness)

Showing your spirit not only comes in the form of dressing up throughout the week but in the form of Junior Senior Wars. Junior Senior Wars have been a tradition here at Forsyth Central for quite a few years now. It is a chance for rival juniors and seniors to go at each other in a fun yet respectable way. Remember to never let your guard down and to always be on the lookout because you never know who’s ready to attack.

Something new to Homecoming week this year is an event everyone has been asking for: a dance. Forsyth Central with be holding a Moonlight Masquerade Homecoming Dance this year on October 27. In past years, FCHS hasn’t hosted a Homecoming dance but due to the continuous pleading from students, it’s finally here. The dance is a semi-formal event so you don’t need to go all out and get a formal princess gown but you can’t forget to get a mask in order to fit the theme.

Get ready for an amazingly spirited week,  finding out who the Homecoming queens and kings are, and a big win on Friday night as we take down the West Forsyth Wolverines.
